Being sick BEFORE GTT test?

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has been sick before they had the GTT test. So before you've drank the sugar drink? Does anyone know if this invalidates the test or makes it unreliable? I was sick before drinking the drink but went ahead with the test anyway and it came back at 7.8 after 2 hours so was diagnosed with GD. However that was 9 weeks ago and not changed my diet at all and I get 4 - 6's pretty much no matter what I've eaten. I think the result of the test is wrong because if I had diabetes my blood sugars would not be this low consistently even without changing my diet. I am currently 28 weeks pregnant. I have requested a re-test today when I spoke to the consultant.

I failed my GT test too but never had any high readings when I did the monitoring afterwards, same as you.
I'm not medical so don't know how being sick would / could impact your result.

I just don't understand how you can be diagnosed with GD when you don't have high blood sugar - isn't that kind of the point?
