Does anyone have any stories of this-both positive and negative? I’m currently on these as this is my 4th pregnancy with no living children, first time taking these in a pregnancy. I’ve no clotting disorders but have been told by medical professionals I could try the aspirin as it was unlikely to do any harm.

I’m currently 7 weeks, had a scan at epu at 6 weeks confirming heartbeat and got my next 1 at 9 weeks, I really just can’t see myself getting that far though because I’ve never got past 8 weeks. It doesn’t help that my only symptoms are tiredness and sore boobs and feeling a bit sick in mornings/evenings but very mildly.

Hi OP, I had to have 75mg of aspirin when I had my 3rd, i was 32 but have an extensive history of miscarriage and my previous 2 births I had retained placenta and hemorrhage both required emergency surgery. We were trying last year for number 4 but had a very bad MMC at 12 weeks baby had stopped growing at 7 weeks I ended up hemorrhaging at home and only just made it to hospital on time!! We had another MC in November so that was 3 consecutive miscarriage in 8 months. We are actively trying again now Xmas is out the way but I have been advised that I will need the aspirin again and progesterone aswell. They didn't give me a definitive answer as to why but my age was mentioned im almost 39! I think your levels naturally depleat past the age of 30 so I guess this is just to support what you produce naturally. I have read some very positive sucsess stories tho so fingers crossed it works for you too!! Nothing worse then feeling all the anxiety and none of the joy in early pregnancy and I can relate to how you must be feeling xx

I’ve got APS (sticky blood) so take 150mg aspirin every night and through pregnancy, as well as heparin injections in pregnancy. Diagnosed after 3 miscarriages.

Pregnancy makes your blood sticky.its to stop you bleeding to death in labour. This affects all pregnancy women to some extent. This will cause complications for some women, even without a clotting issue like APS. Age and BMI increase your risk of clotting, but it can affect anyone. I’m not just talking about things like DVT, it’s tiny tiny clots that form in the womb lining, preventing good implantation and restricting blood flow, both of which can slow growth at any stage and lead to miscarriage. Aspirin helps to mitigate this effect.

Progesterone has been shown to increase the chance of success in women who have had 2 or more miscarriages, even without bleeding. They don’t know why but now the advice is to prescribe it in these circumstances. I had another miscarriage after my successful APS pregnancy, progesterone was added and the next was a success.

Wishing you every success xx

@Notsure31 I have had three recurrent miscarriages with no found cause, the third looked very much like a genetic but we weren't able to get results from resting. Currently on my 4th pregnancy with asprin and progesterone and I am now 31 weeks pregnant with a text book pregnancy so far. I obviously can't know for sure, but I do feel the asprin or progesterone or both worked for me

Thanks for the replies it does give some reassurance, I’m finding early pregnancy so hard with anxiety at the moment.

Hi @Notsure31 I have had three miscarriages one with aspirin and one without I had a successful straight forward pregnancy with aspirin and have my rainbow baby. We have been trying since got pregnant again was put on aspirin and progesterone but baby's heart stopped beating.. I now believe if it's meant to be it will be I'm nearly 41 which I know doesn't help my odds but aspirin is definitely my go to

heavenstruck · 13/01/2025 17:32

I've had 4 miscarriages all at different gestations, this is my 5th pregnancy and the only one I've taken aspirin and progesterone in, I'm now 33 weeks!

I’ve had two consecutive miscarriages and the. They discovered I have APS so now that im pregnant again I started immediately on heparin injections and then at six weeks asprin was added. Both daily.
praying 🙏 this works out and my pregnancy continues x

Late response but I thought it might help -

I had two miscarriages last year and was put on progesterone and aspirin for my subsequent pregnancy. My baby boy is now 8 months old and I completely put it down to these miracle medicines. They can’t fix everything, but they definitely can help and in my case, had a relatively straightforward pregnancy bar lots of anxiety!

2 APS babies here. Your odds now are very very good. I know it’s still a worry though, and I didn’t relax until they were put in my arms. Good luck x

Hey, I have a living DS aged 8. Had a MMC at 18 weeks 3yrs ago. Both conceived first try. Then cue 3yrs of barely anything....2 positive pregnancy tests and one with a high hcg blood count confirmed as a chemical pregnancy.

I'm currently 39wks pregnant and due a section this Thursday. This was my first pregnancy in 3yrs with a confirmed heartbeat at 6wks and straight onto progesterone for first 16wks and 150mg aspirin for the duration. My consultant also suggested taking biokult which I did at the start but haven't recently. I an also on 5mg folic acid.

Good luck, I get the anxiety makes it difficult to enjoy. Just remember that today you are pregnant 🤰 congratulations mama 😘

Great news! After three miscarriages I was advised to take baby aspirin for the first twenty weeks. Was born healthy and full term.

2 Mcs in 1st trimester. 3rd pregnancy progesterone from +ve test (a couple of days before period due) and aspirin from about 10 weeks I think? The result is a healthy and lively toddler. I was 42
