Is this early labour?

Hi,
I'm 36+4.
Got woken up at 3am this morning with severe lower back cramps. They're intermittent by about 10 mins and quite intense and I'm having them still.
Is this braxton hicks or early signs of labour?
Coincidentally I have a midwife appointment this morning at 11 but just wanted any advice in the meantime

Definitely talk to your midwife but it could be labour, I had all my pain in my back due to how baby was positioned
