Hi all,

It’s the first time I’m doing this!

My partner and I have been trying to conceive since May 2024. I’ve had one chemical pregnancy back in November 2024 which was very upsetting.

I tested today using an Easy @ Home and it showed a faint line. I tested again later in the day and completely negative. I’ve attached a photo of the faint positive. The colour of faint line is more pink in person.

AF is due and I have been experiencing a dull stomach ache for 2 days, however, AF is still yet to show.

What are everyone’s thoughts? Am I getting my hopes up? Is it a false positive (although I’m aware they’re apparently very rare)? Could it have been a dodgy test (I bought as a bulk batch as a box of 20)?

I will retest tomorrow (as long as AF doesn’t make an appearance sooner).

Colour isn't same through line. I would lean to evap. I have had lines on these before.

Shortbreadfinger2 · 11/01/2025 19:07

Difficult to tell because the colour of the line isn’t consistent so it might be a dodgy test. I think you’ll need to test again. Have you tried holding your pee for a few hours?

Hi Both,

Thanks for your opinions.

Yeah I feel a bit disheartened since testing because I do have an inkling that it’s not a real positive. I’ve never had a line on one of these tests so felt like I got my hopes up.

I tested with my SMU for this test and it did show within 5 minutes. I slept for a few hours and retested 4 hours later which was negative.

Very frustrating since we have been trying so hard to conceive!!

I will retest with FMU tomorrow.

Thank you

I brought a pack of these a few months ago in October (the box with 20 pregnancy tests and 50 ovulation tests) and I had so many false positives which were actually negative ( I tested using clear blue and one step pregnancy tests and they were negative). I had to bin the easy at home pregnancy tests, the ovulation tests seem to be okay though but it is so disheartening seeing the positive when you’re TTC

I had this a few times on easy @ home tests OP. It's very disheartening and really got my hopes up massively. Some of them are just a bit dodgy and they do this sometimes.

I recommend investing in a good brand (First Response/ Clear Blue etc) and doing one or two tests, rather than buying a big box of these and doing loads.

These seemed more cost effective and allowed me to test multiple times quite cheaply, but they're not a great brand IMO.

Also when I actually was pregnant, the only test I had left was one of these, and it showed a very strong and obvious positive - so I would not put any trust in this unfortunately xx

Hi OP,

Omg!!! I posted the exact same post last week I got a positive with these tests and every single other test has been negative , these tests are usually really good. Mines looked exactly like yours it definitely looked positive.

My period is now a few days late but every other test is negative I have no idea what's going on. There musy be dodgy batches atm did AF ever show OP?

PCOSmumma · 15/01/2025 13:18

Hi!

in the same boat here, this was my test 2 days ago at what I think is 11dpo, could be off as I have pcos and have really irregular cycles. Have been testing since then but have had negatives so not sure what to think! Keep me updated xx

the test had more colour in person, a slight hint of pink x
