I can’t tell if it’s positive since the line didn’t fully form

I took a Sainsburys basic test with my second pee of the morning and within the first minute a line seemed to start forming but stopped and didn’t fully form. The line has colour.

I'd be tempted to believe it's probably a positive but I'd definitely want to retest with a different test to make sure as it's broken.. but if it appeared straight away that's a good sign.

Did you 'dip' it?

Lils998 · 11/01/2025 14:05

No I didn’t dip it, I do plan on taking another one tomorrow.

Agree to test again and dip this time.
Good luck

I would assume negative as it’s really faint were it did sort of form.

Beeches24 · 11/01/2025 19:20

Negative. Dye run.

sparebooks · 11/01/2025 19:37

My first positive was just like that one, I was paranoid about it being only half a line as I'd accidentally flooded it, but tried another test which had a proper line ☺️

Lily1x · 26/01/2025 19:13

Hey, hope you don’t mind me asking but how did this turn out for you? The same thing has just happened to me with Sainsbury's tests. Came up instantly as the dye was working it’s way across. I did the second one in the packet not long after and from what I can see it is negative. Neither with FMU.

Just sussing out if it’s worth buying some more tests tomorrow.

Thanks

Does look like a positive to me. It might be worth purchasing one if those early detection kits.,

Thank you for replying. I did do the second one not long after and it was negative but I think you’re right, worth buying another tomorrow and retesting for peace of mind 😊

Just in case you didn't - it's worth using FMU but also getting your urine in a pot and reusing this same sample. If you try again soon after using a fresh urine sample and you're early on it's very likely the next test will be negative as it's not enough time for the hcg to have concentrated.

It's easier to collect your FMU in a pot and then if for whatever reason you need to do a second sample (like if you flood the test or you're not sure if it's valid) you can use the same sample.
