Hello,
Started having tingling feeling in my right shoulder blade yesterday evening and it’s returned this morning! Just wondering if this is normal and if it’s anything to he worried about? You never know with all the strains of pregnancy so just want to check!
thanks

A chronic, repeating tingle in the shoulder blade can indicate pressure on a nerve. Think about your posture: are you slouching while upright/holding tension in your shoulders/slumping on the sofa? Have you moved your seat back in the car to accommodate your bump, and as a result are stretching to reach the wheel?

Do you have a back-stretcher you can lie on? If not, try folding and rolling a bath towel into a hard log the width of your back and about 12cm thick. Place it on your bed where the itch would be, so that it lies cross-ways to your spine. Remove the pillow. Gently roll back on to it. Breathe slowly and deeply, and relax into the stretch on every out-breath. When you feel ready, slowly raise your arms over your head and let them rest on the bed above you. If this is easy, do it on the floor.

If the tingle becomes a pain, see a doctor - I am not one.

Another thing you can do to counteract advanced-pregnancy-posture, though it's not as good at targeting that specific discomfort, is to kneel down and slump forward over a birthing ball. Slightly deflate it, if necessary, to accomplish your bump.

Sounds like a trapped nerve to me! Probably from having to sleep on your side for 9 months! The PP has some good tips 🙂 Or you can get a nice pregnancy massage which I’ve been having to relieve the tension you’ll be carrying all over. 3 more weeks to go - good luck! ☺️
