So I got a positive result in November, went through he process of abortion, (I already have 5 children) partner and I then had sex about 2 weeks after, the condom split so went and got the morning after pill within 48 hours (the emmaone) tested today 2 weeks after this and its a very faint positive and a very dark positive ovulation result!
Can this be left over hormones or has he gone and done it again????? 🤔
I am on the list for sterilisation...

Did you have a negative test after the termination at all? When in November was it?
I had strong positives nearly 6 weeks after a mc.
The map doesn’t work during ovulation, as it’s designed to delay ovulation, so it is possible to be pregnant, depending on when in your cycle you took it.

Yes the test they sent me to do was neg after the abortion.
Ughhh I feel maybe I was probably ovulation when I took the map... I was not advised this wouldn't work then either so thank you for clarifying. Oh jeez 😳 back into a situation only a month later. You would think I was too old for these type of mishaps ( and wiser after 5) what a prat I feel

Might be time for your dp to consider the snip, now he has 5 kids

He used a condom, you say it split. What more did you want him to do? If you don’t want to get pregnant take extra precautions.

Maybe get a LAC yourself whilst waiting for the vasectomy appt

Organicpears · 10/01/2025 18:09

Waiting lists for female sterilisation are extremely long whereas vasectomy is usually easier to arrange

Totally. 18 months and counting from my first appointment to request one. And when it does happen, I'll need a GA, someone to drive me home and stay with me, and 3 days off work.

Or he can been seen within a matter of weeks and get it done on his lunchbreak.

given the test after the abortion was negative, most likely a new pregnancy..have you had a look into other forms of contraception, like the patch, until you’re able to get the sterilisation?

what are your thoughts if this is a new (valid??)pregnancy? sorry thats insensitive t ask
