Hi all

would really appreciate some help/advice or similar experiences if you’ve got them! A bit about me….

  • first pregnancy from first round of ivf due to blocked tubes. Had haematoma but that has been absorbed. Two scans so far (6 and 8 weeks) seen heartbeat both times. Currently 11 weeks. 12 week scan in two weeks (by which time I’ll actually be 13 weeks).
  • generally have felt pretty ok but of nausea and sickness around week 7/8 but that has stopped. V tired, increased appetite, occasional headaches, some bloating, increased urination. Other than that though, v few symptoms, a few twinges/slight cramps/lower back pain. Boobs are pretty ok, maybe a bit fuller? Have been surprised with how ok I’ve felt.
  • i have adenomyosis which for me manifests with painful, heavy periods. I don’t really have any pain in between (thankfully) other than about twice a year I wake up in the night in agony with pelvic pain. It’s different to period pain and can be so intense it has me crying out in pain or having difficulty breathing. Mercifully it only lasts about twenty mins and happens very infrequently.
the reason for the post is that I woke up last night with this pelvic pain. It was definitely not as bad as in the past, I just had a few deeps breaths and got through it quite easily. It also passed after about 15 mins. I suppose my questions are A) do I need to tell anyone about this seeing as I don’t have my scan for another two weeks and B) does anyone have any experiences of anything similar?

I feel absolutely fine now and have no bleeding just a bit spooked/anxious from it though hoping it might just be things stretching and growing? Thank you so much for your help 😊

P.S I’m aware that the only way to really know everything is ok is through a scan but as this happening for a couple of weeks I thought I’d reach out on here.

Have spoken with EPU and nurse is going to call me back. Would still be interested to hear if anyone has any insights though!

Hi @MrsBP15, not sure if you heard back from the nurse today but I had horrific cramps at around 5-6 weeks, which woke me up in the night. I called a Tommy's midwife who told me to see GP, and they referred me to EPU to scan for an ectopic. They passed around week 7 I think. It wasn't ectopic, they told me it was just a bedding in/stretching/making room for the baby sort of pain. Baby was fine at my scan at 13 weeks. I do occasionally get quite painful twinges around my pelvis but they pass quickly and my midwife told me at my 16-week appointment that it sounds like round ligament pain.

Hope everything works out for you 🍀🤞🏼
