Flying on Clexane

I know I’ll need to get approval from my consultant before booking a holiday but we were hoping to go to the Canaries in April. I’m assuming it’s best to go before I’m 28w? Will there be any issue flying with Clexane injections?

I’m high risk for clots and I’m wondering is the 4.5hr flight time too long? I’ve never flown before when pregnant but would like to squeeze in a holiday as a family of 3 before baby arrives and feel a bit clueless. Don’t see my consultant again for quite a while so was just wondering what others experiences have been ☺️

Could you phone your midwife and ask? Sadly I think they'll probably advise against it though if you're risk, given that the flight time is over 4 hours.

I recently flew on Clexane, all the way from Australia, so a good 24 hour journey. It was fine, I just carried the prescription with me and kept the needles in my liquid bags. Nobody even questioned them though. You may need a fit to fly note as well if you're noticeably pregnant. How many weeks will you be?

27 weeks and a few days by the time we fly home. Canaries doesn’t seem too far away when you’ve flown from Aus!

Will ring my midwife tomorrow and see if she can offer any advice
