Vulva varicosity

Anyone else experiencing varicose veins on their vulva? The whole pregnancy I was worried about getting them on my legs then BAM - vulva full of twisted, purple veins. Promptly showed midwife and GP (lucky them) and they're unconcerned. It's good they're not risky but...my god, talk about kicking a woman whilst she's down. Very, very unsexy. Praying they disappear after delivery 🙏

No issue in first pregnancy. Second pregnancy, nightmare. Still an issue, baby is 2.

Ah I'm so sorry to hear that! Have you been offered any intervention (surgical or otherwise)? I can't imagine having these beyond delivery - in addition to being hideous they also feel so uncomfortable when I'm standing.

I have not been offered any treatment. They have gone down good bit, but there is one that persists and is sore pretmuch all the time.

Hopefully yours go away!

Yes had them in addition to many spider veins on both legs Went completely away post birth and most of the spider veins on right leg also resolved but the left not as much. I do think I have a genetic predisposition to varicosities (my own diagnosis not formally diagnosed) and so they also showed up in my vagina. Purple tortuous and slightly protruding which is how I found them All gone now without further problems and hoping same for you

Oof bless you! Glad they've improved, but still being sore pretty much all the time sounds tough. Sorry you're going through it!

That's so good to hear, thank you for sharing. Similar to you I also have them on both legs (upper thighs), so it's nice to hear yours mostly resolved there. The vulva varicosity is just so unbelievably uncomfortable in addition to adding real salt to the overall wound of feeling-unsexy-during-pregnancy.

Thanks. I would be pushing harder, but I have acouple of other things that are causing bother and I feel I can only shout about so much at once 😂

Hello there,
First time poster.
I am 7 months pregnant and have had varicose veins on my vulva for about a month.
First I read up on them, understood there was nothing to be done and they were pretty common (and rarely burst).
However now some have started bleeding to the point that we ended up at the hospital this morning as there was so much blood it was hard to tell if there wasn't also something wrong with the pregnancy.
Baby is fine and people still say there's nothing to be done. But does anyone have any tips? I read that it's something that's not that known so sometimes even professionals are at a loss. It's pretty scary when you wake up with blood everywhere....
Thank you.

Yes. Horrendous VVs on vulva with baby 2, so itchy would cry at night. Genuinely disappeared overnight after birth of baby! It definitely has put me off having a third. Good luck!

Thank you for sharing! People never talk about this so it sometimes feels very lonely.
