Hi, I had a scan today at 22w5days.....I was told the measurements were behind on femur and arm bones by 2 weeks....previous scan was 19 weeks and they told me measurements where fine!
seen a few doctors today and they suggest a Amniocentesis, I can think on it and decide over next few days if I want it, I would like to no if there is some chromosome defect as we are out of our minds with worry, but also scared it could do damage! We are not small ourselves partner is 6foot 3 and I'm 5 foot 6 so not thinking it's just small baby. I had panorama test done at 12 weeks and came back low risk.
has anyone had this happen and all was ok? Or should I prepare for worst?
Thanks

I think there are a few historical threads on here from women with similar issues, some said that they had a repeat scan and the measurements were normal (I know that the long bone measurements can be tricky to do accurately).

Short long bones could also be caused by the placenta not functioning properly (this happened with my DD) rather than a chromosomal abnormality. She did come a few weeks early but is doing great now!

Thanks for your reply, glad to hear turned Out well for u and ur baby.

they didn't seem to think it was the position of the baby, although every scan iv had they've commented how tucked up the baby is, she is breech almost transverse at the moment.
