Listeriosis

Hi, nearly 28 weeks FTM here! I have a question that I’ve now asked my midwife, my consultant and the PMU about & not gotten a straight forward answer!

At 9 weeks pregnant I went to Greece & a few days after I got home had sickness and diarrhoea for 24 hours. Assumed it was a bug (my nephew and sister also got sick within days) and thought not much of it. Now that I’m almost in my third trimester I am overthinking everything about baby & being born healthy etc. & read that listeriosis can affect baby when born. It’s made me wonder if I could have been exposed to it in Greece (I ate a hot dog from a van at the hotel. 5* tui hotel so not just a random local!) but now I can’t stop thinking of it.

So I asked my midwife if I could have a blood test & she said if I had it it would have been picked up on scans by now. My consultant said unless I’ve still got symptoms I don’t need a blood test but I don’t know how accurate this is? According to dr Google (🫠) you might not have symptoms but can still pass this to baby at birth.

I guess my question is has anyone been given advice around this from their dr/midwife when pregnant and should I push for the blood test or am I worrying over nothing!?
