The love to dream one's are excellent. We'll be using again with baby number 2

Mine is due in February. I have bought from Vinted - a love to dream swaddle, few tomme tippee bags/swaddles - these ones can be arms out or in so can see what baby prefers, and velcro swaddles
All came really good condition from Vinted, this way I don’t have to spend a lot and can see what baby prefers.

DD2 was born at the start of April last year. We had a 1tog gro bag to start with and then progressed into an armless sleep sack by about two months. She didn't like the love2dream swaddle (unlike DD1 who would immediately drop off once we put her in it).

oh really I didn't think 1 tog would have been warm enough but that's interesting!

I used this chart as a guide and we kept the house pretty warm to start with - https://www.babycentre.co.uk/a25024140/what-should-my-baby-wear-at-night-infographic We found the tommee tippee gro egg is really useful for the room temp.

What should my baby wear at night? (Infographic)

Making sure your baby isn't too hot or too cold at night can be tricky. Our infographic has everything you need to make sure your baby is comfortable.

Best advice is start monitoring the temperature in your room before baby arrives and look at a temperature/tog guideline. At the moment my bedroom generally sits around 18 degrees at night so baby needs 2.5 tog. This varies so much from house to house, whether newer or older building, and will of course change with the seasons. So I'd wait and see if you don't already know the general temperature in your room. When my DS was born in the summer it got up to 26 degrees in my room at night (🥵) and the bags were too heavy. He also hated swaddling he's a real mover and needed to kick his legs. So maybe don't buy too much in advance x

Baby is due early March and I’ve got a few Love to Dream Swaddles - one newborn and another small/transitition one, both 1.0 tog but I do also have some 2.5 from when DS was born- he was a late October baby so I will just see what they like. :)

agree with PP about buying from Vinted. Some great options for the Love to Dream bags at a 1/4 of the cost.

Also really rate the Tommee Tippee gro-bags for when they are a little bit bigger. My son was in a sleep bag until he was about two :)

Otto223 · 05/01/2025 17:41

@Livingonhope I got 2.5tog & 1.5tog tommee tippee bags. My flat can get quite warm with heating on but then quite cool with heating off so got couple of both togs! They are up to 3 months size. Also got a few cellular blankets

Nollybolly6 · 05/01/2025 17:58

I’m on baby 3 (cooking), tend to do blankets tucked in and baby half way down the cot as per guidelines at the beginning. Then a combo of 1.5/1.8/2.5 tog sleeping bags.

i think the guides are good but you don’t need to follow them to the absolute xx
