Hi,

Just looking for some advice. I am 21+3 and haven’t felt baby move as much since around 7pm last night - still movement but just not as much. I have noticed an increase in pelvic pain/pressure over the last few hours. Have done paracetamol/bath but hasn’t really done much. Also had my anomaly scan on Friday which all was normal. Was just wondering if anyone had experienced anything similar or if this was normal this early on?

It’s really hard to say and compare. But if you are concerned in any way I would call your out of hours midwife team and talk it through with them. They will help make a decision with you about what to do and maybe pop in and get checked if there is concern. I hope everything is ok x

If you are concerned then give your local PAU a call for some advice.

For your own piece of mind, be aware that it sounds quite normal for your gestation. Your baby is still tiny at this stage with a lot of room to move around and change positions so you'll probably find you'll have lots of changes to their 'pattern' over the next month or 2.

My midwife advised that you should start to pay attention to a pattern emerging between 24 and 28 weeks and that it should be fairly established by 28 weeks when they have less room to hide away in the nooks and crannies. It also makes a difference where your placenta is located.

I'm 28+2 and definitely have a stronger, more established pattern now which is different to what it was 2 months ago.

The pressure sounds like baby could be lying quite low down in your pelvis at the moment.
