Yes, I've had mild migrainey feelings with extreme morning sickness for the past month (although happily, it's easing now). Think its fairly normal. Are you drinking enough water? Dehydration can make it worse.

SniffyHock · 03/05/2008 09:40

DH and I have both had horrible migrane type headaches this week (don't usually) so I think there's a bug going around.

I did get headaches in pregnancy but it was later on and just dehydration.

I always got headaches in early pregancy, it was one of the signs I was pregnant.

I did, and I got the odd migraine during my pregnancy too, more than I usually experience.

Have you tried having some biscuits, cold toast or similar and a sip of two of water by your bed to eat before you get out of bed. I was advised this by my midwife when I was pg, and it helped a lot. It did not stop it, as I suffered from morning sickness throughout my pg but it helped reduce the nausea in the mornings and meant I was less likely to vomit so early in the day.

Yep, had headaches on and off up to 20 weeks. Am now 25 weeks and (touch wood) headaches are gone. Nasty vicious things they were too, paracetamol helped a little but sleep helped more
Congrats on your pg btw!!

Thanks Captain

I should start carrying water with me everywhere. I started off well eating loads of healthy stuff but as Ive started to feel slightly ill I find it harder to eat healthily.

Water def helps - I also use those 4head sticks.

Pavlovthecat · 03/05/2008 09:58

Disenchanted - I carried a water bottle with me, and I gave myself targets to drink one bottle before lunch, one after lunch and one in the evening. I had to do this as I am not a big water drinker and if I did not consciously think about it I would keep forgetting. I did not always manage the evening one, but it was still significantly higher than I used to!

I definitely get more headaches in pregnancy - isn't it something to do with the blood pumping around more? Mine feel more like tension headaches than migraines (I've only ever had one migraine and bizarrely my head didn't hurt much but I felt like I'd taken some dodgy drug as I was seeing all sorts in front of my eyes).
