Would you trust an expired test?

Hello 👋 We've just started this month trying for #2, I'm 11 DPO (now 12) and had two positives on the cheap pregnancy tests that I kept from the last time we ttc but had an expiry of Sept 2023. Both are much darker than my last pregnancy at the same gestation.

What's the liklihood of a false positive (of two) with tests this out of date?

Obviously, have a go with one that is in date, but I would cautiously say "Congrats". I'm no scientist, but if it is there, then it is there. There is no way they can be so accurate with dating these things. Negative, yes, positive, no. xx

I would go and buy a test in date. The chances are that you are pregnant though. I had left over frer that was expired due to being from my previous pregnancy two years prior (I think only 9-11months out of date though). I decided to use it at 11dpo and it was a feint positive. So I then bought more and they were positive too. So in my case it was still a positive.

I had this and did a bit of a Google, conclusion was that expired tests are more likely to give a false negative than false positive, so tentative congrats are in order... but do go buy yourself an in-date test to be sure

I would be more confident that a congratulation is due, but would get it confirmed with a fresh too

No definitely don't trust a test that is that much out of date.

Thank you for all your responses and congratulations x
