Swollen fingers?

I am nearly 40 weeks now and the last couple of days it's been really difficult to get my engagement ring on and off They're not noticeably sausage like but must be a bit bigger.

Did you get swollen fingers at the end of your pregnancy and how long did they take to go away?

DS1 I didn't swell up anywhere until after I had him.

DS2 I had PE so had swollen up everywhere quite badly by the time they did anything about it.

Swollen hands/feet are very normal during pregnancy, and will go down soon after the birth (if not before)

Just keep an eye out for any pain in your belly on the right hand side, any headaches, lights in your vision, difficulty weeing, and any severe swelling anywhere else (you don't have to have all of these symptoms for it to be PE.) also try to make sure you drink plenty of fluids, strangly enough water can help ease/stop swelling!

Is PE pre-eclampsia?

I do have severe pain under the bump on the right when i do too much but i think that's some kind of stretched ligament (images of well over stretched rubber band...)

Not really swollen anywhere else and same as you had nothing like that with DS.

Will try to drink plenty more, despite the climb up the stairs being so unappealing!

It's really common to experience oedema in hot weather - and the temperature has increased a lot in the last week. Unless you start getting headaches or other symptoms (like protein in your urine) you don't need to worry too much. It's wise to take off your rings though - you'd be amazed how many jewellers have to cut them off pregnant women!

doodleboo i am in the same situation - swollen hands and feet adn almost 40 weeks. My yoga teacher says that this is something or other that happens the week before you give birth so I am treating it as a good sign!
