Multiple false positives in a row

I'm 11dpo (tracked ovulation with OPKs) so should be getting definite positives by now 😞 I did a one step last night and a strong line came up straight away. Took another this morning and another strong line. Did a 4 hour hold and I got a stark white bfn on both strip and clearblue, so I take it these are were evaps?! Absolutely devastated, I don't know what to even feel anymore as it's been 2 years and nothing. Period was due today, but my cycles range from 17-39 days (cd 40 today) so it's hard to tell. I had the same problem in October as had 6 very strong positives then nothing, bloods and scans came back negative for pregnancy so they were confirmed evaps. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but it's making me so depressed..

you’re 11 DPO today?

you begun testing very early op. Maybe wait until you’re late(hopefully) next month before first try?

Problem is I can miss periods so I never actually know when I'm late. I previously got my dates wrong as was going by Flo's chart, but as I got my peak on the 19th I believe that makes me roughly 11dpo.

You’re testing early with second urineq of the day I don’t think that means you’re not given the positives with FMU. You need to test each morning for accurate results. Hard I know but that’s how you end up with these mixed results

maybe this needs to be explored if you have a few more months of no luck

ForOliveOP · 01/01/2025 15:22

but starting to test on the 28th but any measure was far too early

Yes I know, Flo told me I was 8dpo when I took the first one as I forgot to log my OPKs

I've had scans which came back normal, just waiting for more bloods to be done, as it's a possibility I have an underactive thyroid. Not sure if this would affect my fertility, but a few things I've read have suggested it can

Possibly chemical pregnancies. I had a similar issue. Low dose aspirin seemed to help. I have 2dc now

The first strip test was last night after a 4 hour hold. With my last pregnancies I've always had a stronger positive in the evening for some reason

I was suspicious of having had a chemical in October. But I had about a month in between getting negatives to AF (which was horrendous but only lasted 2 days). I'm not convinced I'm pregnant at all this month, just have to wait and see I suppose!

No I have two living children and a few late term MC losses. So you would've thought I'd have better control to not test early 😂

I'd definitely avoid clear blue line tests, they're terrible for evaps - try FRER or Boots Early Detection

Which are the strip tests you're using?

(And no night nurse as it causes false positives!)

I know, I detest clearblue! I asked OH to pick up a pink dye test and he came back with those instead. I have awful experience with FRER. The strips are just the cheap one step ones which I've used for all of my pregnancies. I'm going to test in the morning, and if it's still stark white I'm definitely counting myself out and putting the tests away!

good luck

Crazyfarmgirl · 02/01/2025 09:15

Update : stark white negative on clearblue but vvfl on strip test. So either a dodgy batch of one steps or I'm having a chemical. Just going to wait for AF now

These tests are notorious for false positives! Gave me one.

I'm convinced I've been given 3 in a row otherwise I'd be getting positives on other tests too. Absolutely heartbroken, I can't believe it..
