Dates don’t add up to early scan? Worried

Hi there,
I will try keep this as short as possible.
me and my husband have been trying for years, had one miscarriage last sept(was on letrozole) And have had a year of fertility treatment, now on the waiting list for ivf

But i found out i was pregnant on 1st of dec i calculated myself at 10 dpo. This was all natural no treatments so we felt so blessed.

I get pain when i ovulate like a lot of pressure and i got a positive ovulation test on nov 20th and the pain on 21st so i knew i ovulated on Thu 21st nov. I did the clear blue weeks indicator which i got my 3+ on Thu 12th dec meaning i was 5 weeks which all completely matched up with my dates. I was so excited because I didn’t get 3+ with my last pregnancy.

i booked an early privately for fri 27th just ther they said they could see a yolk sac but no embryo and for me being 7w 1 day they should of been able to see an embryo. They kept asking if me dates were correct and im 100% sure of my dates.

Anyway my local EPU scanned me yesterday and found a fetal pole but it was measuring 5-6 weeks so to wait 10 days to see and heartbeat for progression.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? Know they’re dates are correct but measure a bit behind and it all ended up being healthy??
We had sex on the 21st and 22nd that was it after until one day before my positive test which was the 1st of dec exactly 10 days after I have ovulation pain.
I dont know whether to prepare for a bad outcome or not. I know no one can tell me. I just feel so worried. I have had no bleeding at all. My symptoms feel they have eased off in the last few days but I did have that happen with my first successful pregnancy 12 years ago.

Thank you to anyone who read all of this. X

Sometimes dates are just out. I knew all of mine for DS - he dated two weeks behind until 20 weeks, when suddenly he “caught up” and I then measured three weeks ahead and had to have loads of growth scans. They set my due date from the 12 week scan, but have now decided he was actually 3 weeks further overdue by the time he was born.

Sometimes it happens. Try not to worry too much. I’ve got my fingers crossed everything is okay for you.

My very first pregnancy was a missed miscarriage. I went for a private scan at 9+0 and it only measured 6+2 with no heartbeat. I was sure of the dates, at least an estimate of ovulation (to within 4 days) and with the positive test (and no further sex after that ovulation time) it wasn’t possible to be 3 weeks behind. Also online it said if you’re past 7/8 weeks with no heartbeat it’s not a good sign. I then went to the epu and waited for a rescan. I had had a missed miscarriage (eg my body just didn’t indicate or let go).

For conceiving my second and third pregnancies I tracked ovulation to be very sure of the dates.

Good luck, I hope it’s good news for you. I would prepare for bad news too though and to have the time to process it. It’s a horrible wait.

I really feel for you and could’ve written this — these are exactly my dates too and I had exactly the same response at scan and have to go back next Saturday for a rescan. A horrible time. Sending hugs 🩷

@Blue2020 sorry to hear that for you, it’s awful to go through it. Over the weekend I thought all hope was lost, then the EPU scan on Monday has made me cautiously hopeful. But I know it’s either way atm. My husband’s staying positive but I find it hard.

@Toppstileslover Oh it really is horrible time, the waiting and feeling in limbo. Sorry you are also going through this. My next scan is next week 9th. I have everything crossed for us that things turn out the best outcome 🤞🏼🩷
