How soon after MC did you get pregnant again?

Winnie1311 · 30/12/2024 20:36

I've recently had a MC and it was my first pregnancy and devastated it ended so soon.
I'm just wondering how long it took any other mumma's out there to conceive again? Curious to know if anyone struggled after? I know everyone's body is different but looking for some success stories for when i'm emotionally ready. TIA xx

It took me 7 cycles, we started trying again as soon as my periods came back. Sorry to hear about your loss x

mumbruh · 30/12/2024 20:43

Different for everyone...

I had a mc then found I out I was pregnant with but thought I was only a few weeks, turned out I was 14wks as they booked me in for an emergency scan so it was thought I had conceived 3 days after mc!

Years later had a mc and then got pregnant with dd, conceived 11 weeks after mc

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 30/12/2024 20:45

A year. I tried every month.

I’m so sorry for your loss! 💐

blw95 · 30/12/2024 20:48

Sorry to hear about your mc. I am currently 12 weeks pregnant, I conceived only three weeks after mc (medical management at 6.5 weeks) I didn’t have a period in between but used ovulation tests to track my cycle. I’ve heard you can be more fertile after mc but not sure how true that is, wishing you all the luck x

amiold · 30/12/2024 21:21

Mc 25.12.22
Period around 11th January
Positive test 11th Feb ish
Baby born 28.10.23

purpleblue2 · 30/12/2024 21:22

I got pregnant in the January miscarried in the feb. Got pregnant end of feb miscarried in march… got a positive pregnancy test in the April and she was born in the December! I didn’t have a single period from December to after I’d had her!

vladimirVsvolodymr · 30/12/2024 21:24

So sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage in July 2020, had a period in August and was pregnant in September.
Please go easy on yourself, best wishes ❤️

MaggieBsBoat · 30/12/2024 21:25

With my last miscarriage I got pregnant 2 weeks after my d&c!!

Newhi · 30/12/2024 21:26

Pregnant next month and miscarried again. Miscarried again 18m later, then again 6m later. 18m after the last miscarriage I had success!!

Rycbar · 30/12/2024 21:57

I had a miscarriage in June and not yet pregnant again. I’ve had 6 cycles.

Blue2020 · 30/12/2024 22:54

Sorry for your loss.

My first pregnancy was a missed miscarriage. After it was resolved with surgery I conceived again three months later. The second pregnancy resulted in my son. I did track ovulation for cycles two and three though to make sure we covered the window each time.

readyforroundthree · 30/12/2024 22:57

11 months but we weren't actively trying after the miscarriage.
I know people who got pregnant straight away and didn't even have a period and others who took over a year, so it really does vary.

familyissues12345 · 30/12/2024 23:00

Very quickly. This was years ago, but I had a MMC end of August and another MMC end of the following Jan. So 2 cycles I think

We then chose not to try again Sad

OptimisticRealist2024 · 31/12/2024 06:32

I'm so sorry for your loss 💔 It took me around 6-8 weeks.

21 June 2024 - I had my positive pregnancy test (this was my first-ever pregnancy)
24 July - miscarried (tablets)
30 August - started trying again
20 September - period
29 September to 9 October - DTD every couple of days (making up for lost time!)
20 October (ish) - positive test 😊

Now 15 weeks and awake at 6:22am with heartburn 🙃

We hadn't been trying long in either pregnancy and I'd been on hormonal contraception for years so didn't really have an idea of what my cycle was...so in both cases just DTD as often as we liked to and figured it would either happen or it wouldn't. I caught within about a month of trying the first time round.

Look after yourself, give yourself a bit of time to process things. Hope it all works out for you but it takes some people longer to conceive than others so don't get too caught up in other people's stories. Keeping everything crossed for you! 🌈🍀

I had a mc started bleeding 1st December for 8 days but got a negative test 5 days after bleeding started but also got my bloods done at epu 2nd which was at 45, I used ovulation strips as I could tell I was gearing up to ovulate and got a positive opk 18th December and got a faint positive yesterday 11dpo. Going to get a clear blue digital today! I really didn't think I'd of conceived without a period, I still don't believe it to be honest it's mixed emotions I'm so anxious as it was my first mc. I have a 15 month old

Lalalala77 · 31/12/2024 10:16

So sorry you’ve been through a miscarriage, I had my second MC at the end of August and was obsessively googling how quickly it took others to conceive after miscarriage, so promised myself I would answer these if I got pregnant again!
I had one period after my miscarriage which took 6 weeks and conceived on the cycle after that. I ovulated 2 weeks late even on the second cycle so I guess it took about 10 weeks in total?
Im currently 9.5 weeks so still early but have had 2 good scans at 6 and 8 weeks with the EPU so far.
Wishing you all the best in your journey and I hope you’re ok, it’s a horrible time.

HerbaceousPerennial · 31/12/2024 13:15

Hi OP, sorry for your loss. It took around 2-3 months for me after both my miscarriages, but I have long and irregular cycles so probably only second cycle each time. My first miscarriage took a long time to resolve though so from first diagnosis of miscarriage to pregnant again was roughly 5 months. But that’s pretty quick given both my miscarriages were around 11/12 weeks, so do be aware anecdotally it can take longer if you’re further on I think. TTC after loss can feel utterly desperate I know, go easy on yourself and make sure you do lots of stuff to take good care of yourself. I told myself treats were medically necessary to my recovery!

Hattysbackpack · 31/12/2024 13:18

Sorry for your loss. I had a very very early natural miscarriage at 5 weeks pregnant, and didn’t have another period after it as I got pregnant that cycle. That pregnancy went to term. If anything I think I was more fertile following the miscarriage, as previously we had been trying for about 6 months without success (I know that’s not really very long).

MummyJ36 · 31/12/2024 13:21

I had a chemical pregnancy (so technically a miscarriage but a very early one) and it took me about 7 cycles after that to get pregnant with DC2. I’m so sorry you’re going through this OP. I was only “officially” pregnant for 5 days and I’d already worked out when the baby would be born and thought of our future as a family of 4. It is so hard the longer you have to future plan. Sending you lots of love.

Winnie1311 · 31/12/2024 15:23

@blw95 Thanks for replying and congrats on your pregnancy! How was your medical management? I've just found out this morning that not all the tissue passed naturally when the MC happened. I've just taken my first set of tablets and petrified. How was your experience?

ohyesherewego · 31/12/2024 18:07

Next cycle for me - so I didn't have a period in between

Good luck!

Whywhwhy · 31/12/2024 18:14

Missed miscarriage in April, pregnant again in July. Then had another 18 months later. I was 39 at the time of the miscarriage.

Objectiontime · 31/12/2024 18:45

5 months from MMC, Chemical, five months from Chemical, another Chemical. Now awaiting next positive with huge fear but some hope after potential reason found.

Bey · 31/12/2024 18:48

I'm so sorry for your loss it's heartbreaking. I started trying straight away but it took me 3 months to conceive. Good luck

so sorry, just seen your reply, I did find it quite painful if I’m honest, but I was lucky that everything passed and I didn’t need any other tablets. The pain was the worse over a few hours then eased to a period like pain. I had heard horror stories so totally understand why you’d be scared. I was pleased to avoid surgery though as I have previous experience of surgical management too (twice unfortunately). The physical pain is nothing compared to the mental impact though, I’m so sorry you are going through this. How are you now? x
