Reviews on Southend Hospital Maternity Unit

my SIL has recently discovered she is pregnant so did a maternity referral for Broomfield but has been told they are full and she needs to register with Southend or Basildon. Has anyone given birth there recently please and can let me know about your experience? Thanks so much

I managed to register with Broomfield, I am currently 13 weeks. Not personally been to Southend but my sister has had a baby at both hospitals. She could not fault Southend and said that if she would have anymore that would be her top choice

I had my first child at Basildon and they were brilliant, I was also under fetal medicine at Southend towards the end and the facilities there were amazing but I didn’t give birth there.

I've given birth at Basildon and Southend, would choose Southend every time. Absolutely fantastic staff, so supportive and really lovely unit.
