I thought I heard something about only laying/sleeping on your side when pregnant? I'm 11 weeks and I'm becoming obsessed about how to sleep and keep waking up on my back or front. Someone help!

I slept whichever way was most comfortable. In not too much time at all you won't be able to sleep on your tummy and I found sleeping on my back just plain uncomfortable. Your worries may have come from this - it's virtually impossible to sleep on anything but your side!

I don't think there's any danger to sleeping on your front, there's a lot of fluid in there to keep your baby safe, however as you get bigger you'll find yourself less able to, I'm 22 weeks now and I'd put my back out if I slept on my front, but upto 17 weeks I was fine.

It is also suggested that you should try to keep off of your back towards the end of the pregnancy because the weight of your baby/bump can restrict your blood flow which can make you come over all dizzy/sick.

Also, I believe the Optimal Fetal Positioning idea suggests sleeping on your side to help the baby get into a favourable position, but I've not really looked into this as yet.

I remember something about lying on your left side giving better blood flow to baby but I was always most comfortable on my right and DS is fine

Thankyou, I do find it hard to manoeuvre myself onto my front sometimes due to my chest!!
