My cycle is very regular. 28 days, give or take 2 days. I'm now on day 36 with no sign of period, other than the usual period pains on day 29 which I assumed was the start of it. Nothing followed.

I've done three tests - two cheap Asda ones, one which failed completely (no control line) and one which I think had an incredibly faint result line - like, if you really really looked for it. Could just be me seeing things! Husband didn't see it. This morning with first wee I did a Clearblue early indicator one. Looked at it after 4 mins and control line was there but nothing at all in the result window, completely blank. Looked again a couple of hours later as I went to tidy it away and there's a pretty obvious positive line there. I know you're supposed to not look after 10 mins, so should I disregard this? Or did I look too early to begin with and then move on from the idea too soon?

I have two kids, 9 and 7 so am not new to this but have never been so unsure! This isn't planned either...I have the copper coil fitted which I've been getting ready to have changed as it'll be 5 years in Feb that I've had it in. I'm 42 this year so could potentially be the start of perimenopause instead. But I just feel different, I can't explain it.

Off to see family today who live a few hours away for the next few days so don't want to keep testing. Do you think I should arrange a gp appt instead so they can take bloods, that way they can see if it's peri as well as testing for pregnancy?!

Clearblue will often show a very blue line after a few hours when not pregnant. The difference between it and a true positive is often how thin the line is. The line is also sometimes broken. Without a picture it’s hard to tell. But if it came up after a few hours definitely disregard it. True positive lines come up within the time frame and are thick (no matter how faint) and are solid top to bottom.
In future just use a digital. That way it’ll spell out in words.
