Breech baby

My baby is in breech at 38 weeks. Had an ECV which failed. Is there any hope at all that s/he will still turn, or do I have to accept it’s a lost cause?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

In all honesty I'd brace for a csection

Look into acupuncture, there's a specific point i believe it's in the foot that has a pretty high success rate!
Also look at the spinning babies website for positions to try.

My friend's baby was breech at 38 weeks and had turned when they scanned her the day she went in for her planned c section. Ended up being induced a week or so later and she birthed her baby vaginally. I don't know what the stats say but clearly it does sometimes happen!

There's always a chance but it's impossible to say. My 39 week breech baby turned right as my waters broke- I was being prepped for an emergency section and when they checked baby was head down and I laboured naturally.

Thanks all. Maybe some small hope then but probably not something to hang my hat on! I’ll do what I can in advance of my planned c-section to see if anything helps…

I had an ecv on Friday that was successful, ECV is only successful 50% which means if you ask for a second one it might work? saying that babies can flip right up until labour, if you are booked for c section make sure they scan you on day incase baby moved. I feel your pain, I've been distraught at idea or c section, im so worried now she is gonna flip back breech aswell

DD2 turned at 39+2 and i went into labour at 39+3. I was scanned as part of my monitoring on 39+1 and she was breech, then scanned when i presented at triage after my waters broke, which is how we found out she had turned. I had a very speedy vaginal delivery (1hr) so i worry about how they would have got the c section done if she hadnt turned! 🫤 So I'd always say don't lose hope but mentally prepare yourself for c section just in case. Good luck!

I’m almost 37 weeks and baby is breech. I have decided to not go for the ECV as the risk of the cord scared the life out of me so a c section it will have to be.
