You need to ring the maternity ward tonight.

StarsandStones · 26/12/2024 18:49

Ring them tonight, as previous poster said. There is risk for infection when leaking fluid over a longer period. I had it twice, so it can be a big gush but also a trickle...It often smells slightly sweet.

And I felt that I lost fluids while not peeing. So trust yourself. Better safe than sorry!
Best of luck!

I was just going to ask about a smell. Dirty flower water I’ve heard it called.

Call triage but put a pad in now to collect if anymore leaks - it will help them if/when you go in. They will be able to do a test at triage to see if its urine or waters.
With my first i went in once and it was just urine, but then my waters did break a few days later and it was a similar small, trickling amount but glad I went back to check because it had happened!

Definitely call maternity triage tonight, don’t wait for your midwife appt.

Hope all is well,

Monvelo · 26/12/2024 19:08

What the others said. My midwife friend agrees. Call triage.

Boymom9 · 26/12/2024 19:17

Thank you just waiting on a call back now.

I hope everything is okay OP.

I'm 30+4 and this has been happening for a few days now. Was tested and it's 'very watery discharge' according to the doctor. Test was negative for infection or amniotic fluid. She just told me to stick a pad in and if it's filled within an hour go back. It's no where near enough to fill a pad in an hour

jellyfish2 · 26/12/2024 20:13

I had mentioned similar to my midwife before and like the poster above she said unless it was filling a pad I wasn't to worry about it and it'll just be increased watery discharge which is common in pregnancy.

@Boymom9 how did you get on? Hope all is OK.
