Collapsed Corpus Luteum While TTC

I've been off contraceptive for 2 years, but haven't fallen pregnant. I had a scan a few months ago but only just been given the results. It says about a collapsed Corpus Luteum, but surely if I've been TTC this wouldn't keep happening? Nothing else was spotted on the scan so next on the list is a blood test to rule out PCOS, but last tests came back normal. I experience very irregular cycles, from 17-39 days and my periods can go missing for months and are always very light lasting 2-3 days. I've been tracking my ovulation and had a peak on the 8th of December and another peak on the 19th, but as I'm getting negative pregnancy tests and no period I'm going with the 19th. Does anyone know why it could be taking so long, as doctors aren't worried because of my age (26) and I already have 2 children.

Is your BMI within normal range? How is your stress level? Have your hormones been checked out? Have you always had irregular cycles?

Irregular cycles are not helpful, they might be too short or you miss the fertile days.

My bmi is 19 so within the normal range. I do get stressed, but I have anxiety so it merges into it. I'm having blood tests to rule out hormonal disorders, but last recent tests came back normal. I was on the pill from age 12-22 so I went all those years without a period. But they've always been very irregular since I stopped breastfeeding in April

In terms of the corpus luteum, whichever ovary you ovulate from that month, forms a corpus lutuem. If you don't conceive it collapses and breaks down. So this will happen if you don't conceive but this is to be expected and isn't linked to problems TTC.

Sounds like the irregular cycles are making things very difficult and results of the bloods would be helpful as to how to move forward. Sorry you are having difficulties, hope you can get some answers soon.
