Hi, I am 24 weeks pregnant and was thinking of going on a short 4/5 day trip to Nice,France from London. I haven't travelled at all throughout my pregnancy so a bit anxious and looking for some guidance. My doctor and midwife have cleared me for travel but I want to be fully prepared and informed before making up my mind
(Context- I had a late unexplained loss at 20 weeks last year so am bit on the edge at all times)

  1. Does anyone have recommendations on hospitals/care facilities for maternity in Nice in case of an emergency?
  2. What travel insurance is recommended to cover pregnancy extensively?
  3. Any tips while travelling or things to keep in mind? E.g compression socks etc

Really appreciate inputs here as this might be the one trip we do before the baby comes❤️

Ensure you have suitable insurance and enjoy your trip.

I went to Spain at 17w and Germany at 26w

I think your going at the perfect time. 26w was my absolute cut off I just kept thinking off the worse happening and being away from familiar surrounds and hospitals.

Compression socks on plane, stay hydrated and get up to stretch your legs every 30 mins. (Some will say you don't need socks for a short flight but id rather be safe than sorry)

There was no specific pregnancy travel insurance needed when I used post office travel insurance. It covered pregnancy as a standard so I did that. I also brung my nhs travel card thing (sorry can't remember what it's called)

I've not been to nice so unsure if it's hot there atm but if so bring a hand held fan, stay shaded, eat and drink well.

I was a lot more tired and achey at 26 weeks on holiday and the travel/exploring when we were there really took it out of me but I still enjoyed it.

research the local hospital for maternity near where your staying incase of emergency. You'll be able to find that on google.
