2 days of 12 plus hours or contractions which have now stopped…has anyone else experienced this and how much longer before they met their baby? (This is baby no.3 for me with a 10 year age gap from my last)

Oh this was me with my third!!
I feel your pain!!.. I found myself googling how long the longest pregnancy was as it felt like it would never happen. Had numerous episodes where I started timing contractions, then nothing. Went on for about a week. Then a very fast labour!
Hope it all goes well, congratulations.

Yes, I had days of contractions 5 mins apart but not progressing. Couldn't lie down, slept in a chair, I was so uncomfortable. Waters didn't break. In the end I decided that I might unconsciously be holding back - started to visualise the birth and welcoming baby to the world. Sometimes you are so busy planning everything and doing everything for everyone else (especially with number 3 I imagine) that you don't mentally prepare.
Also, check if midwife ok with you taking a warm bath, this helped me progress. And I had a few sweeps.
Turns out dd just really doesn't like change 😁
Good luck with everything

Thank you that’s a good point. How long did it last in the end?

Look up prodromal labour, it sounds like this! Unfortunately stress won't help at all and with everything you've said you have going on at the moment on top of Christmas.. It's not doing you any favours😭 I had this with my first for 4 days and eventually ended in a c section but obviously different for you as you've had 2 before! It's so frustrating! See can you get a sweep maybe? All the usual advice is to rest, relax, eat well and stay well hydrated. Movement, birthing ball, floor work etc. Spinning Babies have loads of moves for optimal fetal positioning in case it's a malposition holding you back. But again, you've so much on your plate finding time for all that is not easy. Hope it's all behind you really soon🙏🏼

Ha I didn't want to say... but it was 5 days. Seriously there's tons of evidence that birthing is delayed at times of crisis so, don't want to sound unreasonable but you need to stop thinking about the other deadlines and just think about making a peaceful oasis in your life to birth this baby ❤️ x
