Which scan is more accurate in predicting due date?

I have had two ultrasound scans this pregnancy. The first was an early scan which measured me at 7 weeks 5 days with an estimated due date around July 6th. I’ve recently had my ‘12 week scan’ which placed me at 12 weeks 3 days and a due date of July 1st. The second scan meets the LAM date exactly, which makes me think this is the best estimate. However I have read earlier scans are actually more accurate.
Which scan/ due date estimate do you think would be most likely? (It’s useful to know for the end of pregnancy in order to avoid pressure for induction etc if I’m ‘overdue’) thanks :)

12 week scan x

12 week.
Baby is too small around 7 weeks, so a tiny change in measurements or placement of baby can make a big difference to the date.

The 12 week scan is often referred to as the 'dating scan'.
This one is the most accurate

12 week scan. I measured ovulation for both of mine and the 12 week scan put them both ahead by 2 days which is quite accurate to me. My earlier scans put me behind by a few days.

I say this with having my son at 35+0! (So technically he was 34+5 according to ovulation) but he was 35+0 according to the nhs. So if you reach full term I wouldn’t worry about a few days in the grand scheme of it all.

I'm a midwife...the UK says the 12 week scan is most accurate but i now work in Australia and they say the earliest scan is. However, I would go off your period date if it is within 7 days of the scan date.

The 12 week scan can be off though. We are expecting an IVF baby so I'm certain on my dates, but measuring a full week ahead.

My first child measured 4 days ahead of IVF, so think some people must just grow them a bit faster. She wasn't big when born, bang on 50th centile.

Babies come on their birthdays not due dates. Only 5% of babies come on their due dates. I wouldn’t give it much thought either way
