Hi I went and got my sweep on Thursday evening I’m 37weeks +5 and this is my first baby I lost my mucus plug yesterday at around 1pm. After my sweep I felt awful pains cramping and could hardly walk then all went away I’m having absolutely nothing now but surely labour is near? Loosing the plug and getting the sweep it couldn’t be far away hopefully is there anything I can do to help progress it I know he will come in his own time but I am sooo fed up 🙈

Why did you have a sweep if you are not at term? When I was overdue, I had 3 on 3 consecutive days and the 3rd did the trick - that was the day before I was booked for induction at 42 weeks though.

As baby was back to back and hg they offered a sweep

I'd just guess that baby's not ready to come yet. It will only really work if ready. Hope that it all starts for you soon.

Surely if you go to term it gives baby chance to reposition so not back to back. I'm confused by that.
You don't want baby to arrive before it's due, it will be more likely to thrive if it waits

A sweep will only help things along if the baby is ready to come anyway. Sounds like it could be a bit longer for you. Good luck OP.
