7 weeks pregnant and the past week I’ve gone off food! Everything I try to go to eat turns my stomach even if I’m starving😭 and have a horrible taste in my mouth so any time I do eat it leaves a horrible taste in my mouth! The only thing I can stomach is ready salty crisps and plain digestive biscuits! Any help would be appreciated because I’ve gone from being a eat every meal person to being ok with having one biscuit and water for the day🤦🏼‍♀️😂

I don’t necessarily have any amazing advice but I just wanted to give you a hand hold because, same! I have never felt so weak from it!
what I would say is don’t suffer unnecessarily, go to your doctor and ask for non drowsy anti sickness medicine. It can be a bit of trial and error but it’s worth it and don’t let them fob you off telling you to eat ginger etc (I pointed out that I couldn’t feed my existing kids ginger and digestive biscuits indefinitely so really did need some help!)

I haven’t been sick so much as just constantly nauseous but that doesn’t mean it’s not hell so don’t feel bad if you’re the same!

And p.s - I am 11 weeks today and just this evening have suddenly felt a wave of ‘normal’ so hang in there.

This happened to me in my first pregnancy. I lost 5 kilos in the first trimester and even my GP was worried. No sickness at all. Just all food tasted 'strong'. It's your taste buds going into overdrive.

Bizarrely I could handle milk chocolate, so I always maltesers and minstrels in my bag for a little pick me up when I felt woozy.

I also relished raw veg and fruit. It was like I could taste all the vitamins and nutrients.

Make sure you take a pregnancy multivit just in case.

Don't overthink it. Follow your body's lead and eat what you can stomach.

I had a perfectly formed, gorgeous girl who weighed the perfect 7 lbs 7.

Congratulations on the pregnancy x
