What happens at a cervical length scan? I'm having one on Monday at 16+3 due to previous preterm birth at 32 weeks will they check baby also?

At mine they quickly checked the baby via abdominal ultrasound and then the cervical length was done straight after via transvaginal ultrasound. The male sonographer was very professional and checked consent about a hundred times, and didn’t really look down there except for the split second he needed to locate my vagina. I had a female chaperone present and DH there too. It took a couple of minutes, maybe a little longer but he had a student in so I gave permission for them to take a little longer to teach. At the end of the scan he verbally told me everything looked fine but I was seen by the consultant after in any case.

Same as above really, I've had a few they did an abdominal scan both before and after the cervical length scan. They insert a probe and the sonographers i had checked I was OK with what was happening and explained everything. I went on my own and I was asked several times if I wanted a chaperone etc.. I didn't find it uncomfortable or anything.

They explained what they were measuring etc.. mine was found to be short which they told me but passed on to consultant to review.

What is it in particular that you are dreading @Wazzalass ?

I think just the internal scan I feel quite sensitive down there and bloated ATM and also would be hoping for a female sonographer x
