Do you have to?

Wildlynx · 20/12/2024 14:24

For the 4 weeks after the c section

Blimey, I didn't know we had to! I drove myself to the hospital for my induction.

isthesolution · 20/12/2024 14:25

I didn't stop driving. Probably didn't drive for a week after birth though.

LozC0411 · 20/12/2024 14:25

Was not aware it was even a thing to stop driving?

Peanut91 · 20/12/2024 14:25

Never. I drove up until I went into labour with both my pregnancies.

cantpullthetrigger · 20/12/2024 14:25

Same here. Only after the C section.

I didn't have a problem reaching pedals or wheel and there was plenty of room for my bump so didn't have any issue at all up until the birth.

YellowDiamondsInTheSky · 20/12/2024 14:25

I didn’t. I drove until the day before I gave birth and stopped for a few weeks after the c section.

Stillherestillpraying · 20/12/2024 14:26

I didn’t!
I drove us home too.

ISeeCheekyFuckers · 20/12/2024 14:26

DD born at 40+13. I didn’t drive that day (as in labour) and DH drove us home from hospital 2 days later. I drove 2 days after that.

ApparentlyRockBottomHasABasement · 20/12/2024 14:27

I didn’t stop driving

OhBling · 20/12/2024 14:28

Why would you stop driving? The only reason I could imagine would be if the way your body is built you literally couldn't sit behind the steering wheel and still reach. I didn't have that problem so drove right up until the end with both pregnancies,

notacooldad · 20/12/2024 14:31

Like others, I never stopped before the birth.
I drove about a week afterwards. I would have been fit to drive sooner but I had two days in hospital and the rest if the week I stayed at home because the weather was miserable and I didn't have anywhere to go!

ijustneedaminute24 · 20/12/2024 14:37

I didn't stop either, I was working on the Friday then had d/s on the Monday. If I'd felt too big to fit behind the wheel I'd have stopped but I was pretty comfortable. I drove again a couple of days later I think.

It took me a couple of weeks after DD as my stitches were so painful it was hard to easily sit for long. I drove up until my due date with her also though.

Tattletail · 20/12/2024 14:41

I didn't. It definitely got uncomfortable towards the end but I had to drive to get to work and I worked up until 2 days before giving birth (not intentionally).

sunshineandshowers40 · 20/12/2024 14:43

I didn't stop driving although probably didn't drive for a week or so after giving birth but DH was at home.

ShowMeTheElephantFoorprint · 20/12/2024 14:44

Drove myself to hospital, in labour, stopping for contractions.
It was 2am, so thankfully v quiet!

LonelyInDville · 20/12/2024 14:45

People actually stop driving when they are pregnant??? I have never heard of that before. I was driving around and running errands up until the day I was induced. I would think only high risk pregnancies would keep you from driving.

No surely not. You aren’t disabled or ill. Stopped after c because of the wound and medically higher risk of busting open in an accident. Otherwise, carried on as normal.

cryinglaughing · 20/12/2024 14:48

I drove myself to hospital for a routine 39 week appointment and was kept in, so didn't stop.

Mumof1andacat · 20/12/2024 14:48

Never stopped.

Ponderingwindow · 20/12/2024 14:49

About 2 days after my positive test when the puking started. It was all the time and I couldn’t reliably drive because I would just start randomly throwing up. DH had to drive me to work every day for 9 months while I toted around a bucket.

(The joys of my country’s scant maternity leave policies, if I had missed significant work for hyperemesis, I would not have qualified for maternity leave, thankfully I had a private office)

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 20/12/2024 14:54

About 28 weeks, twins, huge belly and my car has a stupid blind spot that I couldn't see around. They turned up at 31 weeks and I was driving again a couple of weeks after emcs.

123456abcdef · 20/12/2024 14:56

The day before as I went into labour overnight. Both dc very overdue
