Me again...

Anyone think why this would be? It's not agony but certainly aches.

Braxton Hicks? No pain with mine, but I've definitely noticed regular tightening of the bump over the last week or so. Dehydration? My Bump definitely harder 1st thing in morning after numerous wees during night. HTH. Speak to MW if still worried.

If it's continuously hard you need to get the medics to take a look.

It doesn't feel like a contraction (Braxton Hicks or the real thing!) but then I've never had a contraction. Baby's still moving, so I suppose it isn't critical, just uncomfortable?

Will try a long (soft) drink now!

It may be just that your baby has settled into a particular position and can't move around a lot now because s/he is too big. I often find ds has his bum stuck against my navel and my bump feels really hard then, but if you do find it stays rigid and you feel unwell, do call the delivery unit as it can indicate a problem.

Bump hurting though can be stretching/pressure on your sciatic nerve etc. It can hurt all over the place .

I have had lots of sore braxton hicks since really early. And it has hurt when the baby moves. It is just braxton hicks I think

PotPourri · 01/05/2008 20:29

Or I have put it down to scarring from previous pregnancies

I found when contractions started they felt like bad period pains.

I had some braxton Hicks that were painful during my third trimester. They were quite long and my bump felt really hard. I found that drinking water really helped, it seemed to hurt when I was a bit dehydrated.

i'm only 20 weeks but am feeling a bit grossed out by my tight, hard skin and thinking about how much more it has to stretch - makes me feel really funny thinking about it.

definitely sounds like mild BH contractions - bump may also be hurting a bit or feel tight becuase baby is growing and bump is just stretching!
