Is this early labour?

I didn’t labour with my first so I have no idea! But I’m 38+5 and I’ve had mild-moderate period pain that’s been coming at intervals since about 8pm. No noticeable increase in the strength (yet) though some cramps are more intense than others, and no hardening of my belly - can’t sleep through it sadly. ☹️ I’ve also had a very small amount of goey brownish discharge that could be a tiny part of my plug.

I’ve got a c-section booked for Monday so not sure whether I should ring in the morning to get checked out or wait to see what happens until pre-op assessment on Friday?

That's how my first labour started , it took another 30 hours to get into established labour ,I would definitely give them a ring !

I would ring now and what they say

If you haven't already, I would give them a ring to be checked out as this could be a sign of early labour and the sooner they establish this if it is the case, the sooner they can get you in for a c section. All the best!

Thanks, all. Went and got checked. My cervix is still closed but contractions did show up on the monitor, so just have to keep an eye on it. It's been going on now consistently since 8pm last night but as yet they haven't really ramped up in intensity/frequency. Midwife said it was right to check due to previous c-section, and wants me back in if things get more painful.

Rather uncomfortable way to wait out my c-section until Monday though!
