Hi. I had an ectopic pregnancy. Monday early morning I had surgery to remove it. Tube had started rupturing just before surgery and my tube was removed. Iv had 4 incisions in my stomach/abdomen. Was discharged last night and then few hours later I started bleeding quite heavily, is this normal?
Also, the pain is doubled because of all the trapped gas/wind. Any suggestions on how I can help release this naturally and quickly ?
thank you x

That sounds horrendous, I'm so sorry OP.
I'm afraid I can't answer your question, but I know I did bleed a lot (on and off) after my miscarriage.

Did they give you a number to call for advice?
If not, I'd call 111

So sorry to hear this, and for your loss.

I don't remember a lot of bleeding after mine but it was 10 years ago. I thought as everything had been removed, I didn't have a lot - I'd ring to check, the pain doesn't seem right either, to that degree. Unless they've told you to expect this?

Do you have the number for the ward? If not call 111.

I'm so sorry OP. The gas from abdominal surgeries is so painful! Mine went right up into my shoulder. Weirdly the thing that seemed to help most was peppermint tea and gentle movement. Hope you're feeling better soon.

When you say bleeding, do you mean from the incisions or like menstrual bleeding? On discharge paperwork there should be a contact number for if you have any issues post surgery - I had to contact them because I got an infection.

It’s vaginal bleeding. The thing is Iv been bleeding (heavy bleed) , and spotting for like 2 full weeks prior to my surgery so I would have thought all the blood has already been and gone. Maybe the surgery has pushed the rest of blood out I don’t know x
my incisions bled too but they changed my bandages before I came home.

@Moosey898 yeah I had such bad shoulder pain when I came out of surgery but they said it was trapped wind. I will try peppermint tea as I am trying to walk around a lot. X
