6dp5dt FET - hopeful after heartache

Hello, a little background… after 5 MC’s, we opted for IVF with PGTA testing. The clinic collected 45 eggs, 26 fertilised and 9 were sent for PGTA. Of those tested, 1 euploid, 4 abnormal (2 low level and 2 high level) and the rest aneuploidy.

We transferred (FET) our euploid (high graded and 100% thaw) on 10/12, so I’m 6dp5dt. This morning I woke up feeling nauseous, so took a test (clinic are advising to wait until 15dp) and it’s showing a BFP.

Please tell me this is the news we’ve been praying for?! 🙏considering this is an FET cycle, and there have been no triggers in this cycle, does this look/sound like positive news to you?

Thank you for your replies @30STMK and @figgyandpig! We’re praying for a sticky one, so keep your fingers crossed for us!

Yep - OHSS is not the one! 🤣 But our clinic really looked after me. I have PCOS, so they were expecting a few, but certainly not that many. 🫣 our PGTA results indicate why we have been so unlucky in the past though, so we have some answers, at the very least. Such a rollercoaster of emotions. This is our first round of IVF, so we’re tentatively excited. I’ll keep you posted!

Thank you again.

That looks like a clear positive to me congrats op! I’m also pregnant after doing a medicated fet with pgta ! Will your clinic do a beta test ?

Newt91 · 17/12/2024 06:28

Thank you @Missmarymack2. I haven’t told them about the positive test, as I was told to wait until Christmas Eve (and based on our history, I’m feeling cautious). I’m sure they would though.

Huge congratulations to you! 🥳 How far along are you? How did you get on with ALL the meds?

OP posts:
Missmarymack2 · 17/12/2024 07:34

I am almost 14 weeks ! All the meds is right. I stopped most of the meds at 9 weeks apart from aspirin and vitamins ! How are you finding them ? I found the progesterone injections quite sore compared to the other injections I was on during the stims but you get used to them ! My stomach was covered with little marks by 9 weeks I was glad to stop by then !

Newt91 · 17/12/2024 08:53

Eeek! Congratulations! 🥳
I found the stims quite tough, as I had so many follicles, so I felt a bit icky. I’m now on progesterone (pessaries and injections) oestrogen, Inhixa, steroids, intralipids, extra folic acid, vitamins etc - the list is quite long - but I’m feeling ok on those to be honest.
Yes - the progesterone injections sting a little! 🤣
I’ve just spoken to our clinic and let them know that I tested early and she said it is too early to test as you can get false positives. 😩 this 2WW is a killer!

I have my fingers crossed for you OP that it is a true positive!

Missmarymack2 · 17/12/2024 17:33

Hopefully it won’t be a full positive especially if there was no trigger ! Best of luck

Newt91 · 18/12/2024 06:55

Thank you all very much for taking the time to reply. ☺️
I have taken another test this morning, and it’s looking darker, so we’re optimistic!

It looks very good to me @Newt91 Congratulations!

I hope the PGTA testing gives you added reassurance too. Is this the first time you've had IVF with PGTA? I am always singing its praises because we opted for PGTA too, and now that I am pregnant it is just giving me so much peace of mind that things are (hopefully) OK.

It's not a guarantee but at least you know, as much as possible, that your embryo was normal. Everything crossed for you!

Newt91 · 18/12/2024 07:32

Thank you @PregnantAtLast! Congratulations to you, too! How far along are you? 🥳 How are you feeling? Did you opt for PGTA for your history, or for peace of mind?

Yes, this is our first IVF cycle, and we opted for PGTA because the clinic suspected abnormalities with embryos. I have no problems with catching, it’s holding on that seemed to have been our issue, so we went with whatever they suggested. We weren’t expecting great results from PGTA, but we’re pleased we got some answers - and a couple of embryos we can use, too!

The whole process is torture though, isn’t it? So many uncertainties along the way, so many appointments, so many tests, so much anxiety!

@Newt91 Thank you! I'm only 6+4 weeks (early scan today!) and this is my first pregnancy after 5 years of hell/ fertility treatments, so I'm very excited and anxious.

We went for the PGTA just because for us the process has dragged on for so long, that we wanted to have the best chance possible. This was our first time using donor sperm, which seemed to be the key for us (our issues are male factor). We also had a new clinic - we had some issues with our old one and left with quite a lot of trauma tbh, but that's another story! - and our new consultant recommended PGTA. This was our very first round of treatment with donor sperm and with the new clinic, and it worked!

It might have all been fine without PGTA, as I don't have any known problems, but we just wanted the added certainty, because we couldn't take much more, emotionally or physically. Even if it's fine either way, this gives a lot of reassurance, which is worth every penny!

I'm feeling tired and nauseous, but I know that they are good things, so it's not bothering me too much! How about you? Do you have any symptoms yet? (It's very early for you so maybe not quite yet?)

Also I'm just so sorry you've had so many MC's and difficulties with your little embryos sticking - that must be so very difficult. For me, even though it's taken absolutely ages to get here, I just haven't had any pregnancies at all until now, so there hasn't even been the hope/ excitement to deal with. I can't imagine what you have been through! I really hope it works out for you this time xx

Scutterbug · 18/12/2024 09:48

That’s a lovely positive test! Sending vibes it’s a sticky one!

Missmarymack2 · 23/12/2024 12:03

@Newt91 any update ?

Newt91 · 24/12/2024 09:15

Hello all, @Missmarymack2 thank you for checking in. Yes - my OTD is today, and we’ve had another strong positive. I have reported this to our clinic and they have booked me in for a scan on 14th Jan. I’ve included a pic of todays test, now at 15dp5dt.🤞🏻 still praying for a sticky one! How are you getting on?

@PregnantAtLast i have been thinking about you. How did your scan go?

Wishing you all a very happy Christmas! X

@Newt91 I am good. that is great news. Congrats and happy Xmas !

K2012 · 24/12/2024 09:39

@Newt91 Congratulations ❤️

PregnantAtLast · 24/12/2024 09:50

@Newt91 Oh I'm so happy for you! Congratulations! :) What a lovely Christmas present. How are you feeling?

Our scan was great, it was very overwhelming and emotional as we saw a very strong little heartbeat! We both cried quite a bit. It's been a long journey for us getting here, and everything was normal on the scan, so we are very very happy. We've told a few family members now which has also been quite emotional.

I am really hoping it's all the same for you!

No idea why people post positive pregnancy tests that are clearly positive and ask people if they are positive!

You’re strange for commenting on a post from almost a year ago to be nasty. We all really enjoyed revelling in her joy, shame you couldn’t see that.

boberto88 · 07/10/2025 14:33

when you are looking for support and come on to see someone asking about a clear positive pregnancy test, it can pretty gutting to be honest!
abit strange of you to respond and be nasty on a comment that I made so late since you are so bothered about the timing of my post!
