How do I date for an early scan ?

Hey girls!
I'm so confused can someone please help I want to book an early viability scan from 6 weeks...

My lmp was 5th November I ovulated around 18-19th November?
Do they date the scan from my lmp or my ovulation?
So am I 3 weeks now from ovulation or am I 5 weeks from lmp?
How does it work ?
Because I don't want to book to early for th3 scan .... I have looked all on Google I can't find any answers

Dating is always done from last menstrual period, so you're 5 weeks. I would however book a scan from when you're at least 7 or even 8 weeks.

Everything is still so teeny tiny, that even a being a fraction of a millimetre may be give you a measurement less than your dates causing worrying. It may also not show a heartbeat yet leading to further worrying. It's no guarantee anything is wrong, it's just no sonographer or machine can be 100% accurate.

Thank you so much for your response 😊 I was so worried as I called to book the scan and she kept telling me I can come from 17th decemeber I was like no that sounds to early so I have booked for 29th of decemeber do you think that is long enough? 😀 this dating is very confusing for me lol

NP. 17th December would make you bang on 6 weeks, so on the 29th, you would be 7+5 (7 weeks and 5 days) pregnant.

Closer to 8 weeks seems ideal to me.
