Just a bit of fun. Measuring 9 weeks 3 days, does anyone know how Ramzi theory apparently works? Ta :)

I think 9 weeks is too late for ramzi theory unfortunately.

At your 12 week scan you can try looking out for the nub though.

Ohh I didn't realise it was too late for ramzi, I thought it was ramzi up until it was time for nub theory lol, shows how much I know x

I don’t think it’s a thing regardless of timing! You could get an NIPT e.g. Harmony next week though and that would correctly tell you the sex.

MyPinkFish · 13/12/2024 18:54

It's definitely a thing, whether it's accurate or not is another question, hence 'it's just for fun'

Ok… I just meant don’t worry you haven’t missed anything by being ‘too late’ because there’s no evidence it works and all the mainstream experts like doctors and sonographers dissmiss it, hence ‘not a thing’. But to do it just for fun you would have had to have had an ultrasound at 6-8 weeks and asked if the placenta was on the left or right. Left is a girl, right is a boy. But it can be quite hard to see the placenta and studies have shown it gets it right 50% of the time, so the same as guessing randomly! It’s definitely bullshit. So you really haven’t missed anything. But it is possible to know definitively from 10 weeks with NIPT. If it’s fun stuff that’s more your bag, does the heartbeat sound like a train or a horse because train is supposed to be a boy and the horse a girl. Again totally unscientific but anecdotally a lot of people seem suggest it’s a thing, I actually heard it from my midwife with DD and she was right!!

I have never heard of the train or horse theory, how do they come up with this stuff 😂 thanks for the clarification. I didn't realise ramzi theory was only meant for super early on. We're gonna book a private scan for the gender as it's alot cheaper than NIPT x

I posted my early scan on some Facebook groups and had about 25 boy guesses, zero girl.

NIPT and multiple very clear scans have since said it's definitely a girl
