Combined screening results - when?

Anyone in the Glasgow area know when to expect my 12 wk screening results?
My NT measurement was 1.3mm which i was told on the day then my bloods were taken.
We use the badger app but nothing has been updated at the moment. I know she said they can take 7-10 days to process the bloodwork but from my first pregnancy I was sure they said that if something was concerning they would tell you quite promptly?

My scan was on on Wednesday (2 days ago) so at which point would you think all was ok? 3 days, 4?

My baby is 8 months old now, not in Glasgow but I was told if there was something concerning in the results then we’d have a phone call to let us know in 4 working days and if there wasn’t then we’d get the results in the post within 2 weeks x

We didn’t get a call until 3pm on the seventh day to say it was high risk

I'm not in Glasgow, but I was just told it could take 7-14 working days to receive the results, and they didn't specify that a phonecall would definitely take place before the 14 day mark. However, I'm working on the rough assumption that by 7 days the test will have been done and the remaining 7 days is to account for delays in post.

Like you I also had mine done on Wednesday, though this was actually a repeat test. An admin error meant my first bloods were never processed and it took the hospital 5 days to realise. I'm pretty upset by it, as I'd originally had them taken on December 5th, so I had hoped to know the results by now. Not to mention the panic I felt when the antenatal unit called me 5 days after the original test was done to discuss the error with me - you can imagine where my mind went when they first called!

I feel your pain with the anxiety of waiting and wish you best of luck - hopefully we both get written results quickly.

@xMsXhX oh what a nightmare!! Fingers crossed you get them soon

with my first baby I never even received written results, my midwife just went over them at my 16wk appt. They don’t send them out here if nothing is wrong. Definitely here they go by the whole no news is good news thing so I’m hoping if no news by middle of next week then I’ll just hear about them in Jan!

@ecossegirl91 don't they give you a timeframe in which to expect a call? I suppose in that case I'd probably assume you're in safe ground once the 7-10 days have passed?

ecossegirl91 · 14/12/2024 08:34

@xMsXhX they ask if you’d rather receive bad news via post or phone, I said phone, then she said it takes 7-10 days to process but if it’s bad I’d hear before but she was a bit light on the exact details. I seem to remember with baby 1 a different person said a will would happen very quickly if anything concerning was found. It’s funny how each trust is so different.

Just updating to complete the thread - results were given today at my appt.
1 in 5000 for DS which i think is the lowest result based on the new system and same for other trisomies. Good news 🙂
