Medical management misscariage - odor and brown blood

Hi,

had a medical management on the 1st, embryo was around 6 weeks and I was around 8 weeks.
Normal bleeding but after around 5 days there was less red blood and there is an odor. I think I would compare it to lochia. Its not horrible, but smells different to normal menstrual blood. Smells like liver smell, a bit sweet and maybe sour?

I do have a raised temperature BUT I did have a nasty flu coinciding with the miscarriage and I am still weak and cough a lot. I also got food poisoning on Tuesday night so it might not be related to the bleeding (I know, I am having fucking amazing time).

My lower abdomen hurts like with period pain, nothing too bad. There bleeding is only brown, like a prune juice and not excessive. Cervix still open.

Is this smell normal?

When I had a miscarriage, my DH noticed the smell more than me, it turned out I had retained placenta, and had to have it removed.

Thanks. What was the smell like?

Also, how was the pain and bleeding?

Thank you. I am trying but EPAU told me to get swab with the GP. Basically waiting for the infection to develop if its not there by now.
