Odd early pregnancy scan

Hi, I’m looking for some advice or to hear from people who might’ve experienced something similar… I am around 7+5 weeks pregnant going from my last period, at 6+5 I had cramping and some blood loss (not
much, and this subsided within the day). Because of this though, my midwife booked me for an early scan which was today. The sonographer said the scan was a difficult one, but she thinks she can see two sacs (looks like one had split into two), and she thinks two Fetal poles, one measuring 4.5mm and one 2.8mm. She couldn’t see any heartbeats but thinks it’s probably too early so I have another scan booked in two weeks.
I’m really wondering if this sounds like a case of vanishing twin syndrome occurring, if both foetuses don’t seem viable due to their small size considering how far on I am, or if anyone has experienced anything similar and both foetuses were viable?
I know every pregnancy is different but I’m really just looking for other people’s experiences as it’s going to be a long two weeks before the next scan!!

Were you physically tracking ovulation OP or are your dates just from LMP?
I don't have experience with the two sacs but it's not uncommon for dates to measure behind. I have long cycles and ovulated late and was 15 days behind LMP at my first scan (LMP said 8+2, I actually measured 6+1).
I'm now 25 weeks.

At 7+5 you should definitely being seeing a clear heartbeat OP sorry - with my twins there was very clearly two babies and two heartbeats at 6+1 - if you are sure on your dates

I actually hadn’t tracked my ovulation that month but I had tracked conception and the most I could be out would be 1 week. My cycles are usually 28 days though, and only 1 week out I guess would still make them very small for their gestation.

That’s what I thought tbh, the most I could be out on dates is around 1 week but would still put me over the 6 week mark. Do you remember, or were you told, what your babies were measuring at that point?

I can't remember exactly but I know that one measured bang on 6+1 and the other was a day or so behind

I am 7+3 based on my last period and found out I was having twins today. Two heart beats etc. She did say I was measuring 6+ something but that's not unusual this early as it's so hard to measure something so small. She said everything looked fine and as it should be

Congratulations! Pleased everything looked fine for you.
Thanks for letting me know, I did think it could be hard to measure accurately when it’s such early days. I guess I’ll see at the next scan!
