Can I have your experiences please? If our frozen embryo transfer is successful, I'll deliver at 44. Consultant has said they won't necessarily push for a c section just because of my age, I struggled with my daughter though 10 years ago as id had an epidural due to pre-eclampsia and just couldn't push her out. Ended in a cut and forceps delivery.

I had a home birth with my ivf pregnancy. Had to tell the nhs to eff off many times. I was 44.

Good luck OP

All going well, I'll be 42 when I have DD2. I'm planning an ELCS.

You can opt for a cesarean if you want one and with your history I'm sure they would oblige. With your history and age I would strongly advise against a home birth - I think that would be madness frankly.

Sorry meant to say 'I think they would strongly advise against a home birth'

I was 43, after a 7 year gap. I was, though, overall fitter than in my 30s and so the pregnancy was easy and the consultant (involved for a review due to my age) wasn’t concerned.

I did allow myself to be induced on my due date, and that went much better than my previous experience of induction. I did some hypnobirthing techniques and breathed my way to full dilation and then pushed the baby out on gas and air.

It did take its toll on my body - knees more aches, piles worse, etc - but I bounced back faster because I had to do a 1.5 mile round walk for school run with older dc twice a day, from when my baby was only ten days old.

I was lucky, but hope it’s good to hear thy it doesn’t always need to be stressful.

Personally I wouldn’t do a home birth. Both my babies were emergencies but it does cloud my opinion. My second baby had 5 minutes to be born by crash section or she would have died or at the very least had brain damage. I thank my lucky stars I was in hospital
