trouser expanders - has anyone used them?

Has anyone bought the little belts that fasten onto trousers or skirts when you are still too small for maternity clothes? There are a couple available, but I don't know which to buy, or if they are a waste of money.

I tried one and thought it was a bit crap tbh and a waste of money.

I did buy a set.. they helped for a couple of weeks and then they got really uncomfortable. Didn't use them on skirts though as I didn't think it would work. The only problem is you can;t close your zip, so you need to buy long tops to cover it.

I tried some and they were crap.

I used a hairband. The ones you'd use for a basic ponytail. Hook one side on the button, slip the other side through the button hole and hook that side onto the button too. Works best with a bump band over the top as well.
