Dehydration in pregnancy

I’ve been feeling unwell after my whooping cough vaccine (vaccine was weds, became unwell on Friday morning) and have been drinking lots of water to keep hydrated. I’m normally very well hydrated and have been drinking 3-4 litres water in this pregnancy - I’m 26 weeks.

This morning I woke up and didn’t need to urinate for 2 hours despite having drank water before bed and over a pint of water this morning. I was also getting some stomach cramps that I felt was hunger related but now feeling maybe because dehydrated? Went for a wee and it was so dark despite the amount of water I had drunk.

we go on holiday tomorrow, contemplating ringing the midwife for advice but don’t want to fuss about potentially nothing. The only phone number I have is maternity triage. Would you ring 111 or maternity triage, or just wait it out?

Get yourself some rehydration salts, Dioralyte. But I'd also talk to someone just in case.
Hope you're ok.

Ring maternity triage asap. It's probably not serious, but getting checked out is a good idea.

Thanks - I am feeling better after ringing triage (but also worse as I feel I’ve overreacted). Lots of water and rest! ❤️
