what's your normal luteal phase (i.e. number of days between ovulation and period)?

mercedes2 · 29/04/2008 22:54

hey its usually 16 to 17..x

it could be a period, it could be pregnancy. Sadly the symptoms of both can be similar. Wait until the weekend and then test. It's less likely to be too early then.

The discharge could be pregnancy related (or implantation related) but could also be your period coming.

When you say you ovulated on 16th do you mean 16th day of your cycle or on the 16th of April because if it was 16th of april you are just about approaching your period if your cycle is regular.

Can't offer much in the way of advice I'm afraid as we've been TTC for almost a year now and at this stage everything is a symptom

I think you can get implantation bleeding but I'm not sure if it's generally brown, pink or frank blood. Also I've read that early pg symptoms can be very like those of AF so the sore boobs, bloating could be a sign of either. Isn't the temp supposed to drop back to normal after OVing? (I'm not 100% about that though as I don't temp) Yours staying up could be good sign.

No doubt some great advice will come along soon. Just wanted to wish you luck

digitalgirl · 29/04/2008 23:00

so you've got a few days to go before you're officially late.

if your temps are still high then the brown discharge could be from implantation. If you're anything like I was when I was trying to conceive, then I'd wait till you're due or a day over before testing.

all you other symptoms could be pregnancy symptoms, but they could also be pre-period symptoms brought on by the hormone progesterone.

saying that, I tested ridiculously early (12 days after ovulation) as I had really painful cramps that were far too early to be period related. got a bfp!

good luck!!

meant to say, if you're like me and hate seeing negative pregnancy tests then I'd wait till you know you're definitely late!

BigBadMouse · 29/04/2008 23:02

The only pos sign of pregnancy I can see from your OP is the continued increased temperature despite your period being imminent (if it is).

That said, early pregnancy and imminent periods are very similar so hopefully the brown is some sort of implantation bleed this month.

Good luck with your TTC - charting etc really helped me, hope it works for you too.

beaniesteve · 29/04/2008 23:05

Hey Mercedes, I hope you are. been trying for 7 months and had a couple of months where I felt sure I was but alas still trying.

It's hard but we'll get there.

I am charting, using a fertility monitor, taking vitamins etc. Like digitalgirl I am now at the stage where I don't test until my period is late.

good luck.

GluteusMaxiMum · 29/04/2008 23:07

Don't feel silly, you're not! There are 100's of women on the TTC and TWW threads all like you. I've lost count of the amount of pg tests I've gone through and the different confusing symptoms that are so like AF symptoms can drive you nuts but like DG said, try to wait until you're definately late before testing.

mercedes2 · 29/04/2008 23:16

awww thank you all..so much i really mean that..well its only a couple of days to go and will let you know what happens..fingers crossed..and good luck to you too who are trying ..shouldnt say that trying..just have to relax but its so damn hard too..will see in next couple of days..x
