Insane sinusitis at 28 weeks- any magic remedies??

I’ve never had sinusitis in my life but I think my pregnant immune system has struggled with the cough & cold I caught from my 15 month old & in the last week I’ve had that, a UTI and now sinusitis and tonsillitis 😭

The pain in my cheek and eye socket is crazy, my top jaw also hurts. Paracetamol does nothing. Heat packs barely touch it. Im desperate to buy some Sudafed but I know it can reduce blood flow to the placenta so I won’t but omg I can’t cope with this for much longer (I’m on day 3 or 4).

Please anyone with any ideas, no matter how crazy, please send them my way! I will try anything

I had similar in pregnancy and it was miserable. What worked for me was letting a hot shower create lots of steam in the bathroom, getting into the shower, hanging my head down as low as I could (and still balance!) and very firm massage around forehead and down sides of nose. Do it for as long as you can cope with in the heat/steam. Hope it shifts for you soon.

I had severe sinisituis in pregnancy too after catching covid in my third trimester and nothing would shift it, it lasted weeks. i ended up going to the doctors and begging for antibiotics which did work as all other home remedies didnt do a thing. i was also recomennded this and it really helped

@Mindfulofmuddle it certainly is miserable! I’ve found a sinus massage on YouTube to follow, it definitely doesn’t get rid of it but at least reduces it enough that I can function, I’ll try it with some steam today!

Thanks @hippychickreno the pain this morning seems to have centralised around my eyebrow and socket, my cheek and jaw don’t hurt so I’m hoping my sinus’ are draining and we’re on the home stretch 🤞🏼 if it lingers after the weekend I’m going to the GP! I’ll get some nasal spray today

I had the same, it hadn't resolved after 6 weeks, GP prescribed antibiotics.

Have a look at a Neti pot.

The steam really helps because it effectively moisturises the dry passages and helps loosen the infected mucus. Fingers crossed you’ll get some relief from one of the methods suggested!
