Hi everyone,
I am at a concert in a couple of weeks. I will be 22 weeks pregnant. It is a heavy metal concert.
my husband is concerned if the baby will be okay with the noise because it will obviously be very loud. I have told him that it’ll be fine and lots of pregnant people go to concerts all of the time.
I know this sounds ridiculous but now he’s mentioned his concern, it’s now in my head. Questioning if going to a loud concert will be okay for the baby?

Baby will be fine, I would've thought.

You may not be! Make sure you have somewhere to sit and aren't getting jostled around. I stupidly brought a load of tickets for stuff when pregnant and spent the whole time waiting for it to be over so I could get back to bed 😂

Baby will be fine x

I went to a gig at 6 months, baby is fine. I'd recommend booking seats even though it's lame for a metal gig😀

The baby will be fine. But you might struggle. I had to come out of a Wagner opera before the end. I just couldn’t hold it any longer 🤣

I would avoid long exposure to loud noise (for reasons I won’t go into due to a clinical trial my friend took part in) but a concert should be ok. But as others have said I’d get a seat and avoid moshing! 😀

You'll be fine! I'll be going to Limp Bizkit at about 19 weeks and Iron Maiden at 35 weeks. I went to gigs during my last pregnancy as well. It's not too loud for baby, they're underwater.

My top tips would be make sure you rest the day before, wear comfy shoes and don't be in a hurry to get home - let the crowds disperse ahead of you.

Thanks everyone. We are seated thank god!
otherwise they’d be no chance I’d be going haha.
I wish I could go in my pyjamas to be completely honest because that’s the only time I’m comfortable nowadays 😂

I went to a concert at about that stage of pregnancy -baby was really really active all night!!
(he still loves music) ☺️

I went to a gig at 35 weeks pregnant. Baby had a lovely time jumping around. I did need to take a breather 15 mins before the end though as it was so hot but otherwise it was all fine.

I went to a metal concert at over 20 weeks pregnant and was fine. In fact baby is now 7 years old and has the ears of a bat! Whether she chooses to use those ears and listen is another thing Grin

Blue2020 · 05/12/2024 14:10

My friend went to a concert two days after her due date.

Like others, I'd be more concerned with whether I could sit down and stay awake than with whether the baby will be OK.
Enjoy!
