BFP today! Weeks pregnant confusion

So I got my BFP today after trying a few months 😀. My cycles have been super long like 45-47 days. Clear blue says 2-3 weeks, Premom and Flo app saying 6 weeks 4 days (based on the start of my last period being so long ago).

Does anyone know if the hospital will go by the last period too? As my due date is saying end July, is that correct!? Help 😬

If you’ve got super long periods I’d go of day of ovulation. Otherwise you’re going to panic if go into a scan expecting it to be 8 weeks but it’s only six! Good luck and congrats.

to make it easier you should just count back 14 days from your ovulation date if you know it to measure LMP. Unfortunately you’ll only know when you have your scan to confirm!

The hospital will take period date but your due date is only set once you have your dating scan anyway. Congratulations x

The midwife will go by LMP to begin with then you'll get your actual date from your scan. The 12 week scan is when you'll get your official due date as that's when the measurements are most accurate.

I too have long cycles and am 10 days behind what the apps said I should be going off LMP (I'm nearly 24 weeks). LMP is just a very loose guide based on an average 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 14 so not accurate for a lot of women.

The clear blue tests show ovulation rather than gestation so you need to add 2 weeks - in your case they're saying 4-5 weeks pregnant.

Thank you everyone, that’s mega helpful! It was confusing me. I will be patient and hold out until they can tell me properly ☺️ xx
