Hi everyone,

So I found out I’m pregnant after nearly 5 years of infertility (and about to start IVF!). It’s safe to say I’m in happy shock, but also a tad nervous after having miscarriages previously.

A bit of background, I think I ovulated around 15-17th November and got a positive pregnancy test 1st Dec as I had flu like symptoms and something felt “off”. My Flo App says I’m 4 weeks & 2 days along today (the pink line test was the first one I took).

Some family members have said the lines are quite dark for so early on? Also I’m having backache, bloating and period like cramps, did anyone else expect this?

Any advice for these early days - what helped you - would be amazing, I feel like I’m going mad!

First of all congratulations!

If you're concerned call the EPU. Explain about your previous miscarriages etc and at the very least they will reassure you. They may also get a doctor to prescribe progesterone to help prevent another.

Best of luck lovely xxx

Congratulations! I would like to think with previous miscarriages you would have plenty of support from midwives and doctors. Make an appointment asap and if you can afford to, keep taking tests for reassurance. I know it sounds silly but I felt the same with my pregnancy after a miscarriage and that peace of mind is literally the most relieving thing

@LittleBettie congratulations! I also got my first positive on 1st dec and have had period like cramps and bloating. I think it's pretty normal looking at a million google sites 😂

Congratulations!!
i experienced the exact same so soon too bloating and backache as well as quite severe period type pains I always kept feeling like AF was coming but my DS is nearly 2 so it wasn’t that😂
I also just found out I am pregnant again too with dc2 ! Due august 11th and having the same bad period type pains and I’m not worried at all because they were especially sore in my first pregnancy and eventually calmed down by maybe 6/7 weeks.
The thing that put my mind at ease the most was booking an early scan I booked one for my DS when I was 6 weeks and the relief it gave me knowing that everything was well and the cramping was nothing to worry about !
hope all goes well for you and you have a smooth pregnancy!!
